ah...bathtime.

good ol' bathtime.
i love bathtime pictures...
but i rarely take them...
for lots of reasons.
mainly: it's the end of the day and i'm tired.
but also because the lighting is bad (the photographer in me)...
and mixing camera and water is never a fantastic idea.
every once in a while though...it has to be done.
like last night.
we let e play with his pretend shaving cream (the greenish soap in the pictures above)...
as in, we didn't stop him when he basically emptied the entire container into the tub.
good times.

look who's here...

that's right...baba and uncle luke are here for a little visit! so, in advance, pardon my blog negligence.

baby peyton.

two newborn sessions in a week! whew. here's a few of my favorites from a session i did yesterday with little peyton.

baby kylie is here!

you may remember troy and rachelle from our photo shoot several weeks ago. their little girl, kylie, was born shortly after our session and i had the privilege of doing her newborn session last weekend. though she wasn't too interested in sleeping much, i was able to grab some sweet shots. here's a few of my favorites...

more signs of spring.

this picture is for you dad.

listen.
can you hear it?
beyond the distant drone of the freeway
and the hum of airplanes overhead.
listen.
closely.
you can hear it.
hear them.
the birds are back.
so are the bees.
and that sweet, soft breeze.
listen.
you can hear it.
the chattering. the chirping.
the bustling bees.
the whispering wind.
even the flowers can hear it.
they are dancing, shivering, in anticipation...
swaying slightly.
bobbing in tune with the humming of the bees.
spring is here.

shocking, i know.

hello, hello! two posts in one weekend...yowza! :o)

just wanted to let you know that i just posted an update over at my knitty shop blog...please pop on over there and read it! fun stuff happening over there. here's the direct link: weebitshandknits.

also...i have some super exciting news to share. i'm officially an auntie! technically, i have been an aunt since i married john (his sister has two kids) but on saturday, my brother and his wife welcomed a baby girl into the world! evelyn renae was born at 2.45am weighing just under 8 pounds (offical weight: 7 pounds, 15 ounces) and measuring 20 inches long. i have yet to see pictures but i'm sure she's beautiful. i'm so excited to meet her...though i will have to wait until june when my other brother gets married. hooray for new babies...

and what's a blog post without any pictures?!? elijah learned how to use scissors this week! while he doesn't use them correctly yet, he has a great time cutting away...just like mama.

and one more...just for fun. me and my boy. :o)

weekend in the city.

ok ok...so i've been MIA. so sorry about that! i've been knitting away on all my orders from my grand opening of weebits! so excited about that. but i hate being completely absent from this blog so i wanted to share some fun photos we took in the city last weekend (the city being san fransisco. it's about 70 miles northwest of us). john and elijah spent most of saturday at the ball park (that'd be where the giants play) watching supercross while i drove in later with some friends. we picked a very tired elijah up from the motorcycle craziness and then headed over to do some shopping and have dinner on pier 39...yummy seafood! we spent the night there in the city and then headed back home the next day. it was a short trip, but full of fun too. elijah had some fun firsts while we were there (though this wasn't his first time in the city)...
1. he rode in a taxi (without a carseat which completely freaked me out) and loved going up and down the hills of the city (mama could've done without them...erp.)

2. he got to ride on a merry-go-round! pier 39 (one of the city's top five tourist destinations) has a ton of fun little shops (read expensive and touristy!) and restaurants so we went there to eat dinner. elijah and our friends' kids conner and ashley rode the merry-go-round after we had dinner (i had to ride too as elijah wouldn't get on without me. he wouldn't sit on the horses either. so we just sat on one of the benches and watched the world go by. again...erp.)

3. he loved looking at all the big buildings and watching the traffic way down below him...especially after dark. the fire truck speeding down 3rd, lights and sirens blazing, was a definite highlight.

here's some more pictoral highlights:
