my new favorite picture...

i do a post entitled "my new favorite picture" every few months or so. i think it's destined to become a regular feature here on my little blog.
this post's picture comes directly from the thousands of images i brought home with me from alaska. without a doubt...i can say it is my absolute favorite. there are a lot of good ones sitting on my hard drive...but this one tops it all.
not because of its impeccable technical quality (of which there isn't a whole lot)...or its impressive artistry. rather...it has everything to do with the content: me, two of my favorite people, one of my favorite places.
to me, this picture is home.
the only thing that could improve it? i wish john had been there too...
